Eco Chic

You can be environmentally friendly in every aspect of life, including your beauty regime. It’s the ultimate in eco-chic. Gretta’s going green in today’s Gretta’s Got It.
Producer: Diana Reed

WSVN — Gretta Monahan: “The latest craze across the country is to be eco-friendly. Guess, what ladies? Now we can be eco-chic even with our products.”

Gretta Monahan: “So let’s take a look at some of the more popular lines.”

Gretta Monahan: “So, ‘Ole Henrickson’, what is special about this for you?

Celso Olaguibel: “The philosophy behind the line is basically less is more. It’s 100 percent organic.”

Gretta Monahan: “So, when you’re talking about an organic line, what they’re saying is that those exact ingredients are in the jar. So if you’re talking about this, you’re talking about real apricot. Here, aloe vera plant, chamomile and walnuts. The real thing not artificial.”

Gretta Monahan: “There’s even lines like this that do everything from the inside out. You’ve got your water. You’ve got your vitamins, and it even works from oily skin all the way through age_defying. I love this line. I want to take a closer look at this one.”

Gretta Monahan: “A lot of products on the market have natural ingredients, but if you’re looking for organic, you have to make sure it has this seal.”

Gretta Monahan: “So you’re not sure you want to take that plunge to organic? No problem, a lot of the lines are offering a little sampler pack, so you can try everything.”

Gretta Monahan: “So let me bust another myth. Everyone thought organics would hurt sensitive skin? Wrong, the ingredients are buffered. It won’t break you out.”

Gretta Monahan: “Take this line for example, Caudelie Paris. It’s a luxury French line. It has grape, rosemary, orange blossom, but it’s not going to upset sensitive skin, and that’s a myth most people believe.”

Gretta Monahan: “If you want to take the organic to your makeup, which a lot of women do because foundations are loaded with petrochemicals, this is where to do it.”

Gretta Monahan: “This is one of the hottest lines. Why?”

Celso Olaguibel: “It looks like a powder but feels like a cream. It’s 70 percent minerals, vitamin E, vitamin C.”

Gretta Monahan: “As for price, it’s pretty much in line with what you use now. From department store to drug store, you can now find them everywhere.”

Gretta Monahan: “Even fashion designers that show runway are getting in on the trend.”

Gretta Monahan: “Stella McCartney’s big thing is cruelty free, so you know her products weren’t tested on animals. It’s a simple small line with very intense ingredients. You can get luxury skin care and also stay green.”

Gretta Monahan: “So, clearly with designers like Stella McCartney getting in on the action, you don’t have to be a tree-hugger to go organic. I’m Gretta for Gretta’s Got it.”
